Saving power and dollars in winter
"I'm saving around $80 a month on my winter powerbill."
Since taking advantage of a free home health check, Takanini resident Ruchi Kang has saved more than a quarter on her monthly power bills this winter.
“I was tired of seeing my power bills spike during winter,” said career woman and homemaker Ruchi. “When I saw the free home health check advertised on Facebook I decided to find out more about it. An energy advisor came to my home – he gave me some great times tips on conserving energy and arranged to install a complimentary iSmart hot water controller.”
“The iSmart controller has made such a difference – it manages your water heating without impacting on hot water availability. As a result I‘m already saving more than 25 per cent on my power bills this winter and we don’t run out of hot water either – I’ve been recommending it to all my friends.”
A hot water controller cuts power to the hot water cylinder during peak hours, avoiding heating when not necessary. This provides savings and has a handy boost button if needed. “The great thing is that if I need to use more hot water I can.”
