Foraging Etiquette

  • Only take what you need
  • Be respectful and considerate of others who may also wish to enjoy foraging for free kai.
  • Don’t climb trees or pick unripe fruit as this can harm the tree.
  • Please consider taking any over ripe or rotting fruit home to compost so that the location stays pleasant for all to enjoy.
  • Consider your own personal safety, and the safety of others, when collecting fruit and nuts. Be aware of hazards such as traffic, pedestrians, steep and uneven ground, bodies of water and power lines.
  • Only pick fruit and nuts from trees growing on public land.
