KUA TAKATŪ Ā-ĀHUARANGI
CLIMATE READY

Climate change is having an impact on Tāmaki Makaurau, and all of us who live here. From floods and droughts to extreme weather events that disrupt our lives and supply chains, we’re all feeling its effects. But there’s a lot we can do – small changes around our homes can save time, money and resources; and as communities we can build, share and grow with Papatūanuku in mind. Join us and heaps of other Aucklanders working together to stand strong against the effects of climate disruption.

Climate disruption is already changing our way of life in Auckland. Some of the main impacts of these hazards include risk to life, injury, damage to property and the natural environment, water and food shortages, loss of power and communication, being stuck at home, unable to get home and difficulty accessing emergency care.

We know many communities are at different stages of building resilience to climate impacts and may need different solutions. We want to support you and your community to understand the risks of climate change and provide practical advice to prepare and adapt to the changes. Sharing knowledge and experiences from across communities will enable us to become a climate-ready community.
