Maliu and Sabrina love to ride every day. Maliu recently woke up at four a.m. to ask his uncle to fix his bike and Sabrina can’t wait to ride to school in the mornings.
When did you start riding a bike as a way to get around?
Why do you choose to ride a bike as a way to get around?
It’s so fun. It’s awesome. We ride really, really fast. Well, my brother rides fast – he likes to be in front and race.
What is your occupation?
I go to school.
Where does your route start and finish?
We ride from home to school. Or to Uncle Tee’s bike club.
Describe where this route takes you on the way to your destination?
We ride to school and we ride to the park, sometimes we even ride up Māngere mountain and see cows.
Do you ever stop along the way? If so, where and why?
We stop for fish ‘n chips or to play on the swings at the park.
For people considering biking in Auckland for the first time, what would you say to encourage them to start?
